About the Author, Dr. Fred Stutman
Fred A. Stutman, M.D. has done extensive research in the fields of exercise physiology, diet, and nutrition at the U.S. Naval Air Development Center and in his private medical practice. As a medical officer in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Stutman established one of the first walking programs for cardiac rehabilitation patients. Following the publication of his groundbreaking walking books, he became known as “Dr. Walk.” Dr. Stutman has appeared frequently on national T.V. and radio and his books have been featured in magazines and newspapers worldwide. Dr. Stutman was the national spokesperson for Hush Puppies’ shoes in conjunction with his earlier title Walk To Win.
Dr. Stutman is currently practicing family medicine as a Temple University Family Practice Physician. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice, and a recipient of the American Medical Association’s Physician’s Recognition Award. He is also a member of the American College of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Stutman is the author of ten books on diet, nutrition, and exercise. His latest title 100 Best Weight-Loss Tips (July 2005) has been released to strong reviews and is selling well. His previous book, Walk to Win, proved that walking was the safest and most effective exercise for good health, weight control, cardiovascular fitness, and longevity. This nationally acclaimed best seller was a Prevention Magazine Book Club Selection. His last book, Diet-Step: 20/20 – For Women Only, is now in its second printing, and was a ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award Finalist. Diet-Step also appeared on the cover of Publisher’s Weekly Small Press Issue and was featured in articles in Ms. Fitness Magazine, The National Enquirer, and Star Magazine, among others.
